Our Purpose – Our Passion

Purpose of “Freunde und Alumni der Dirigentenausbildung in Augsburg e. V.” is the promotion of art and culture in the field of conductors' training, promotion of individual conductors, and in particular, the study path “Blasorchesterleitung” (brass orchestra management) in Augsburg. Art needs people who care and get involved. Be part of it: Memberships are available and individual donations are very much appreciated to support the ongoing work and various already initiated projects.

The association was founded in 2016, to create and support the unique and initial “1^st International Competition for Conductors in Augsburg”. The main focus of our work is to promote meetings and partnerships at national and international level and the wind orchestra landscape in the amateur and professional area.

A Unique Collaboration

To allow students to work with “live” orchestras, education, internships and rehearsals take place with a variety of amateur and professional wind orchestras. And here the ‘Leopold-Mozart-Center’ has a unique offer for the conductors’ study path:

The Chair of band management (Leopold-Mozart-Center Augsburg) officially collaborates with the Concert Band of the German Armed Forces, Siegburg, led by Lt. Col. Christoph Scheibling.
